| By means of lasering of chip guiding chip breakers in carbide and PCD indexable inserts, an undistorted contour can always be used for grinding. It is of especially great benefit for smaller swivel base diameters if the cutting edge is always at the rotation centre. |

| It also makes sense to use a lasered chip breaker for drills with PCD inserts in hard-to-machine materials. This will damage the chip sooner and entail a target-oriented chip removal, which will increase the tool life. |
